Dinosaur Collage, Moon Sand Recipe & Bubble Foam!

Toddler Activities in the home!

Try out these three new toddler activities. Take arts & crafts to the next level. Dive into this super simple moon sand recipe! Finally, have fun with sensory play in bubble foam.

Dinosaur Collage

Find a piece of cardboard. Draw and create a cut-out of any animal. We went with a stegosaurus dinosaur! Gather materials for decorating a collage. Our materials are listed below. A hot glue gun was used by momma bear only. The intricate items certainly needed some sturdy glue and I made sure to only have possession of it to avoid any burns. My toddler had tons of fun creating and designing his own stegosaurus collage. This is a great indoor toddler activity!

  • Construction paper cut-outs
  • Feathers
  • Stickers
  • Jewels
  • Pom-pom art balls
  • Glue

Moon Sand Recipe

Moon sand is a quick, simple and fun sensory creation. It consists of TWO ingredients! All-purpose flour and baby oil. DONE.

MOM TRUTH: I measured with the wrong measuring cup. I realized it afterward and threw in more baby oil to fix the consistency. It’s that easy! Okay, so it should be about 4 cups flour to 1/2 cup baby oil. Mix well and add more oil to your liking. It has a smooth, cool and sandy consistency! Let your toddler explain how he/she feels and discuss some great adjectives! Add some toy creatures and engage in pretend-play. Take your toy friends to the “beach!”

Bubble Foam

Here is another sensory creation! We utilized body wash/soap and water, ratio 2:1. We added shaving cream for some thickness. MOM TRUTH: I didn’t measure this one out! Just wing it and I highly doubt it will disappoint! Get your hands in there and create some bubble foam with this concoction. We added food coloring for a red/pink tint. Of course, our toddler threw in some trucks and animal toys to play with! Sensory play has countless, known benefits to the growth and development of children. Some of my favorites are listed below!

Sensory Play Benefits

  • Enhances creative thinking
  • Stimulates senses for brain development
  • Builds linguistic & cognitive skills
